Bradley Vynalek | Partner and Firm President | Quarles & Brady
Brad Vynalek serves as a counselor and advisor on strategy, exposure, and enterprise opportunity for clients ranging from local start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Brad works very closely with law departments to create and manage budgets and create optimal teams for a variety of legal services in the banking, high-tech, Internet, software, manufacturing, e-commerce, health care, higher education, and tech transfer industries.
Brad currently serves as President of Quarles & Brady, and has held national firm roles ranging from client service team leader to national strategy partner. Since joining the firm 20 years ago, Brad’s roles have ranged from recruiting law school students and lateral attorneys for the firm nationally to leading mentoring and strategic growth initiatives. Meanwhile, he also has provided pro bono services for the Volunteer Lawyers Program, Wills for Heroes, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Brad has provided keynote remarks in a variety of settings and both sat on and moderated national panels. He is a graduate of Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy, Valley Leadership, and the Center for Creative Leadership Lawyer-Leader Program. In collaboration with the Arizona Commerce Authority and the Phoenix Business Journal, Brad created a business leadership summit series bringing together top Arizona CEOs to share lessons on succession planning, overcoming challenges, and innovation.
Wilma Wallace | General Counsel | REI
Wilma is the General Counsel for REI (Recreational Equipment Inc.,) a $2.8 billion retailer and experiences co-operative. In that role, she leads the teams responsible for all legal and compliance matters. As Corporate Secretary, Wilma is also responsible for Board governance. She also oversees REI’s enterprise information security division responsible for cybersecurity, privacy and data security risk.
Martha Jahn Snyder | Partner | Quarles & Brady
Martha Jahn Snyder is an intellectual property litigator with a focus on patent, trademark and trade secrets litigation. Martha’s litigation experience covers a variety of technologies, from stem cells, telecommunications, and software, to snow plows, bucket molds, and sippy cups. She has represented clients in federal district courts in Wisconsin, Texas, Colorado, California, Florida, Delaware, and Illinois, in the Seventh and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, and in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.
Martha’s approach to litigation is proactive, organized, aggressive, and efficient, contributing to The BTI Consulting Group’s recognition of Quarles as a “Litigation Powerhouse” on BTI’s “Honor Roll” for “IP Litigation” and “Most Feared Litigation Firm.”
Martha has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in reaching successful jury verdicts, including helping clients to obtain jury verdicts of $5.4M, $44.1M, and $940M. Martha also has helped clients obtain significant freedom-to-operate decisions following arbitration hearings, and eliminated multiple patent suits at the motion to dismiss phase based on well-placed arguments regarding unpatentability under 35 U.S.C. § 101.
Martha studied Operations Research and Industrial Engineering at Cornell University before going to law school, where she focused her studies on Tech Transfer.
Having been with Quarles & Brady since she was a second year law student, Martha also has contributed to firm administration, most significantly through the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and the summer associate program.
Cornell Boggs | Of Counsel / Senior Strategic Advisor | Quarles & Brady
Cornell is an accomplished general counsel and corporate secretary experienced in all aspects of corporate management and oversight, including ethics and global compliance, executive coaching, and succession plan development. At Quarles & Brady, he will play an integral role in helping to create diverse and inclusive teams to meet emerging client demands in this area.
Leveraging his unique background and vantage point, he will work with the firm’s attorneys in building teams and promoting collaboration to provide the best client experience and outcomes. He will also work closely with the firm’s leadership and diverse lawyers to create pathways for success, improve their experience and increase diversity in the firm.
Boggs is currently the vice chair of the board of directors and chair of the governance committee at Thrivent Financial, a Fortune 500 company, where he will continue to serve. His skillset spans a variety of industries, including food and beverage, manufacturing, technology, and biotechnology. Prior to joining Quarles & Brady, he served as General Counsel for both Toys “R” Us and Dow Corning, Chief Responsibility and Ethics Officer for MillerCoors (now Molson Coors Beverage Company), and in prominent leadership positions at other Fortune 500 companies.
He was recognized as a “Legend in Law” by receiving the prestigious Burton Award from the Library of Congress and the American Bar Association, and Savoy magazine named him among the “Most Influential Black Corporate Directors,” one of the “Most Influential Black Lawyers,” and as one of the “Top 100 Influential Blacks in Corporate America.”
Boggs holds a Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University, where he is a long-time board member. He is also on the board of directors of the nonprofit International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution.
